Not Even an Admiral
David Robinson played his college ball with the Navy, earning the nickname, “The Admiral.” However, he never actually reached that ranking. Once he finished his service commitment with the Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, his rank was Lieutenant, Junior Grade. It doesn’t quite roll off the tongue, does it.
Quadruple Double
Over his career, David Robinson amassed 10 blocks in a single game on 10 separate occasions. The 10th and final instance was easily the most memorable, as it also included 34 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists – that’s right, a quadruple-double.
On the second game after the all-star break vs. the Pistons, Robinson treated the home crowd to the fourth (and most recent) quadruple-double in NBA history.
