Trade No. 5
Las week, Bleacher Report’s Ric Bucher reported that the Timberwolves may be shopping Ricky Rubio. While Rubio is confident he’s staying, I couldn’t help looking at different scenarios that could benefit Minnesota and any possible suitors.
If the Timberwolves are seriously shopping Rubio (as hard as that is to believe), this trade potentially upgrades the young squad. While Rubio and Holiday (both 24) have similar PER and WS/48 stats over their careers, Holiday is a former All-Star (2013 Sixers!), who rates out as a better scorer and shooter.
The thought of Rubio running point with Eric Gordon and Ryan Anderson waiting to bomb from outside, while Anthony Davis awaits tasty dishes would make any Pellies fan drool.
