Benchmarks Matter
Monta Ellis averages one 3-PT and Deron Williams averages 1.3 3-PT per game. That’s great, but frankly, I’m not interested. When looking at players to target, we need benchmarks for each of the categories. Here are the benchmarks (and total players that meet them) I’ve utilized.
- FG% = 50% (43 players)
- FT% = 80% (78 players)
- 3PT = 1.5/game (44 players)
- PTS = 15/game (50 players)
- REB = 8/game (26 players)
- AST = 5/game (24 players)
- STL = 1.5/game (26 players)
- BLK = 1.5/game (18 players)
Seems like a lot of players, but we can weed out the single category specialists when putting together our teams.
