Draymond Green

Team: Golden State Warriors

Overrated Since: He won an NBA Championship and never stopped talking

2014-15 stats: 11.7 points, 8.2 rebounds

Draymond Green is supremely valuable to the Golden State Warriors – they don’t win the NBA Championship without him. However, I’m not sure how valuable he would be to the rest of the league. And that sort of matters in these types of rankings.

Which is why, after the contract he just received this off-season ($85 million over five years), Green can’t but help be one of the NBA’s most overrated players.

He’s a great defensive player – can guard positions 1 through 5 at times – and can hit the occasional open outside jumper. Though, with the way that he’s talked ever since his team beat a very much short-handed Cleveland Cavaliers team in the Finals, you’d think he was their most important player and took home MVP honors.

That didn’t happen.

I love the passion that Green plays with and what he brings to the table for the Warriors. With all that said, I’m not sure if his skill is necessarily transferable to the rest of the NBA. He’s a really nice player, but not nearly as valuable as he’s talked up to be.
