Am I crazy for picking Kevin Durant as the MVP? Unfortunately, the NBA is an out of sight out of mind league and with Durant’s injuries last season, people forgot about just how ridiculous this guy is. I think that foot is healthy and that he is a little sour going into this season. Add that all up and you get a nasty and highly motivated player who is the best offensive player in the entire NBA.
He almost did not claim this top spot because of the “if he is healthy” clause that comes into effect when you bring up his name. But you know what? I don’t care, I am going to drive the Kevin Durant MVP train. This is a guy who is just an astounding basketball player and his team could very well be the top seed in the West this season.

Also throw in the fact that Durant is going to be a free agent next season. With the salary cap jumping exponentially, he could be in store for a historic contract…especially if he wins MVP this season.
Hey, by the way, he is shooting 57 percent from 3-point range and 59 percent from the field this preseason. He is pretty good. I am hedging all my bets and going all-in on the Durantula for MVP. He is highly motivated and he will not be cursed by the team success factor. The Thunder will excel under new coach Billy Donovan (no offense Scott Brooks).
The Thunder will be a joy to watch this season and Durant is a huge reason for that. Like I said, I may be crazy for choosing Durant. But who cares? I believe in what this guy is capable of and I think the rest of the NBA should be terrified of his return. He could be the number one story in the NBA this season – and especially next offseason.
