Toronto Raptors @ Miami Heat – Friday, December 18 (8:00 PM ET)
In the Eastern Conference, there are the Cleveland Cavaliers and then there’s everyone else. Here are two teams that could legitimately change that argument.
Toronto has some of, if not the, best guard play in the East. Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan are both playing incredible basketball, keeping the Raptors alive and well. While the Heat’s guards Goran Dragic and Dwyane Wade make a credible duo, their strength lies in the paint, especially defensively.
Chris Bosh and Hassan Whiteside have turned Miami’s paint into an impenetrable fortress. DeRozan and Lowry’s strengths are getting to the basket and using their bodies as scoring weapons. I’m interested in seeing if that’ll be enough to overcome the gargantuan Miami giants. Meanwhile, what will Toronto’s big men offer?
