Houston Rockets – LOSERS

Moves: Traded Donatas Motiejunas And Marcus Thornton To DET For First-Round Pick

In the end, the Houston Rockets didn’t trade Dwight Howard or Ty Lawson. They stood pat, even though there were heavy rumors in the closing hours on both players.

The Rockets did add a first-round pick for the Pistons in exchange for Motiejunas and Thornton. But, other than that, there was not a lot of movement from Daryl Morey, which is somewhat of a surprise.

Houston comes away as losers at the deadline, simply because of what will happen this summer. Because the Rockets failed at trading Howard, they will likely lose him for nothing in July. They’ll likely also cut ties with Ty Lawson.

I’m actually shocked that Morey didn’t punt on Dwight for whatever he could get his hands on at the deadline. Perhaps pride had a little to do with it. Shame.
