Memphis Grizzlies – WINNERS

Moves: Acquired Lance Stephenson And First-Round Pick For Jeff Green From LAC; Acquired Chris Andersen And P.J. Hairston For Courtney Lee

The Memphis Grizzlies flipped Courtney Lee, who they probably weren’t going to re-sign this offseason for P.J. Hairston, Chris Andersen and four second-round picks. They also sent away Jeff Green in exchange for Lance Stephenson and a future first-round pick.

All in all, the Grizzlies probably didn’t necessarily improve with this deal, but they succeeded in trading Green and Lee. They got a young player with potential in Hairston and are taking a flier on Stephenson, who has proven to be a good player in the right situation. They also snagged a first-round pick, which will help mightily when it’s time for the Grizzlies to rebuild.

It’ll be interesting to see if Hairston develops into the shooter that the Grizzlies have need for quite a while. He’s only a career 31 percent shooter from three-point range, however.
