Detroit Pistons
Record: 28-29, 9th Seed
Remaining Schedule: 25 games remaining; 14 vs teams over .500
With the move that the Detroit Pistons made at the NBA Trade Deadline led me to believe that they were a shoe-in to make the playoffs in the Eastern Conference. Though, after losing six of eight games, the Pistons are far from a forgone conclusion to make the playoffs.
And with more than half of their remaining games coming against teams with winning records, it’s going to be an uphill battle for the currently 9th seeded Pistons.
Then again, looking at who’s currently in front of them, do you trust the Pistons to overtake the Bulls, Hornets or Hawks in the standings over the next six, or so, weeks? It’s going to be close. If anything, the hope is that the addition of Tobias Harris will begin to pay off more and more. And he’s already off to a good start.
During his first three games in Detroit, Harris is averaging 17 points and five rebounds on 49 percent shooting.
(Prediction): 41-41
