Dallas Mavericks
Record: 30-28, 7th Seed
Remaining Schedule: 24 games remaining; 11 vs teams over .500
The Dallas Mavericks have been one of the teams that I still haven’t figured out. And their recent stretch in which they’ve lost six of their last eight games makes things even more complicated. The good news for the Mavs, however, is that they finish the season with 13 home games vs 11 on the road.
Dallas also only have 11 games over teams with winning records left on their schedule. Assuming that they’ll win more than half of their games against the teams on their schedule with losing records and about 30 percent of their games against teams with winning records, the Mavericks will roughly finish the year with 42 wins.
And this is where the West begins to get tricky. Will 42 wins be enough for the Mavericks to sneak into the playoffs?
(Prediction): 42-40
