NBA Draft: 8 Interesting Prospects To Watch In Day 1 Of The NCAA Tournament
Brice Johnson, North Carolina
(16) Florida Gulf Coast/Fairleigh Dickinson vs North Carolina (1) – Thursday, 7:20 PM (ET)
As another intriguing prospect, UNC’s Brice Johnson has had a sensational senior season. Johnson comes into the NCAA Tournament averaging 17 points and 11 rebounds on 61 percent shooting from the field. Perhaps most impressively, he’s doing this in only 27 minutes per game.
At 6-foot-9, Johnson isn’t your prototypical power forward at the next level but he is effective and you can’t deny him that fact. It’s going to be interesting to see where a player like Johnson will land in this year’s NBA Draft, considering that Johnson still has a ways to go when it comes to his outside shot.
For North Carolina, Johnson has been the hear and soul, along with Marcus Paige, of the team. And Johnson is always an interesting player to watch. Earlier this season, he nearly had a 40 and 20 game against Florida State.
