Jamal Murray, Kentucky
(13) Stony Brook vs Kentucky (4) – Thursday, 9:40 PM (ET)
Kentucky may not have the best player in the country, as was the case the last few years, but they still have a solid group of NBA prospects. And one of those names is Jamal Murray.
Murray is a 6-foot-5 off guard that averages 20 points and five rebounds this season. He also shoots 42 percent from three-point range. Projected as a possible top 5 or 10 player in this year’s NBA Draft, Murray is an interesting prospect to watch in the tournament. If he has a breakout run, he could find his way to begin a top 3 selection.
Even with his excellent offensive numbers, Murray still lacks true playmaking ability. Which is probably the biggest reason why he’s not a legitimate threat to be taken as the No. 1 pick. And maybe that has to do with Tyler Ulis being that good this season for the Wildcats, which has limited his opportunity to make things happen.
Speaking of Kentucky’s point guard…
