After getting absolutely outclassed by the Golden State Warriors during their first matchup of the season – by 30 in Jan – the Spurs did what they always do and evened the playing field. If nothing else, with the Spurs’ eight-point victory over the Warriors, they gave Golden State something to think about.
Sure, the Warriors are going to play this game off as if it was just another game in the regular season. But, perhaps most importantly, the Spurs proved that they can beat the Warriors. And that’s pretty significant, considering that the Warriors hadn’t lost a game this season against any of the top contenders in the NBA.
