The salary cap jumps dramatically following the end of this season, which could entice players to opt out of contracts and test the market.
So the NBA fan may want to keep a keen eye on social media and track any rumors. Of course, we’ve heard the news of LeBron James unfollowing the Cavaliers twitter account (that probably means nothing, so no need to freak Clevelanders), amongst other things.
But maybe watch for something from guys like Pau Gasol or Al Hortford. They could break their contracts and leave for George Washington-greener pastures over the summer. The numbers are going to be outrageous this season. Be prepared.
