Indiana Pacers

Have the Pacers lost their minds? After their Game 7 loss against the second-seeded Raptors, Frank Vogel was fired.

Larry Bird always believed that a coach could get stale and that time was now for Vogel.

The Pacers have three keys to helping them change from first round exit to Eastern Conference contenders.

  1. Sign a head coach that Paul George believes in
  2. Do NOT trade Paul George
  3. Sign a quality big man

The options are there and it is now up to Bird and company to choose the correct direction.

Bird needs to search free agency with the new salary cap and get a quality big man to perform and to help the young Myles Turner. My perfect fit is Al Horford, Joakim Noah or Dwight Howard. Personally, I think that a Dwight in that rotation could be the absolute perfect replacement and upgrade to Ian Mahinmi. Besides just an upgrade, his play style is similar to that of Myles Turner which is the future of the Indiana front court; so, why not have one of the most dominant modern-era bigs to teach him.

This team needs just a bit of tweaking, as PG-13 continues to develop, in order to make a run for a title in the East.
