Extra Effort

It’s the 2016 NBA playoffs. You get paid big bucks, and now you need to earn it. Hustle plays are hard. Hustle plays are gritty, and many times aren’t credited for but hustle plays win games.

Oklahoma City Thunder, if you are going to knock off one of the best teams in NBA history, you must win these categories every game.

Offensive rebounds and turnovers – these are the two major stats that can drive a coach crazy. The Thunder tonight had 16 turnovers and 7 offensive rebounds. Compare those numbers to the Warriors’ 12 turnovers and 15 offensive rebounds, and it is obvious who came out on top.

Eight extra attempts to score more is a bigger deal than it seems especially with the Thunder having the bigger lineup the majority of the game as Adams saw 36 minutes and Ibaka 30.

The Thunder won both of these in Game 1. It is a no-brainer that come Friday the team that wins these is going to be up 2-1 and in a commanding position.

The Western Conference is obviously much more competitive, and this series has a certain buzz about it. Game 3 should be extremely entertaining.
