Detroit Pistons
DET gets: MCW and Tyler Ennis
MIL gets: Joel Anthony and Darrun Hilliard
Wouldn’t this be fun? Two division rivals helping each other out?
The Michael Carter-Williams experiment needs to end in Milwaukee. It wasn’t fun while it lasted, and only got more painful to watch as the season went on. He wouldn’t start with Reggie Jackson firmly established as the team’s floor general, but he could help lead the second unit and have greater ease returning from injury in new surroundings.
Tyler Ennis is a solid bench PG if given playing time, and Detroit’s bench was one of the worst in the league at scoring. Ennis could beat out MCW for more playing time, or Van Gundy could try a Jeff Hornacek Suns-esque backcourt combo (except off the bench). It’s worth the risk for a team that just made playoffs but got swept by the now NBA Champion Cleveland Cavaliers.
Milwaukee acquires Zaza Pachulia in terms of leadership in Joel Anthony, and Van Gundy is supposedly high on Hilliard’s upside. Milwaukee could use some young talent and veteran leadership with many free agents to be this offseason and so little money as a small market team.
