9. Toronto Raptors: Marquese Chriss

The Toronto Raptors come away from the evening with the 9th overall selection in the upcoming draft, which gives them the rare opportunity to further improve a team that’s already Conference-Finals capable.

With the 9th pick, a team like the Raptors probably won’t be looking to fill any immediate needs through the draft. Instead they can select a high-upside player who they can look to develop over time, similar to what they’ve been doing with Delon Wright and Norman Powell.

The best moldable piece available at this point in the draft will be Marquese Chriss from Washington. Chriss can help bolster a very shaky power forward rotation as early as next season, but his real appeal is centered around his long term growth.
