It’s all but a certainty that George will not be in a Pacers uniform beyond the 2017-18 season. He has voiced his frustrations with people top-to-bottom within the organization and their lack of recent playoff success suggests he’ll leave.

Now, where he’ll go is totally up in the air. Los Angeles (Lakers and Clippers), Boston and Philadelphia are all feasible destinations. Deadline deals fell apart with the Celtics and the 76ers, as the Pacers were reluctant to part with their franchise cornerstone for anything they were offered.
Personally, I think that George belongs in Philadelphia. Sixers fans want to see a winning team take the floor again (for the record, NOT the away team). George’s skills and veteran leadership can bring the 76ers back to glory. He’ll fit in at either the two or the three and be the centerpiece in a team oozing with potential.
However, of these four teams, the Lakers are the most likely destination for George. The Lakers will have a nice draft pick come April and a potential great player will come to Los Angeles as a result. George has not denied his interest in joining Magic Johnson and company out west. The Lakers will have a ton of money to coax George. He’d be able to return the Lakeshow to it’s winning ways sooner rather than later.

One thing is for certain: if he isn’t traded, he’ll become an unrestricted free agent after the 2017-18 season. The biggest free agency sweepstakes since LeBron James’ departure from Cleveland will occur when George hits the market. Just hope your team is prepared to break the bank to have a chance at signing the current Pacers’ superstar.
