Lonzo Ball

Lonzo Ball might be drafted by the Lakers with the second pick, but there’s a chance that he’ll slide in the draft. Teams might not want to put up with his insane father LaVar, especially the Lakers.

Ball’s best fit is probably in Philadelphia, where he could be part of a lineup with Ben Simmons that features two ball-handlers. The 76ers need shooters to space the floor for Simmons, and Ball can space the floor without the basketball. If the Lakers and 76ers decide to go in a different direction, Ball would be an ideal fit in Phoenix.

The Suns already have a talented point guard in Eric Bledsoe, but he doesn’t fit their timeline. He’ll be in his 30’s when the Suns will be ready to compete for a playoff spot. With two bad knees, Bledsoe may be a ticking time bomb. He would make a great trade piece, but could play with Ball in two point guard lineups.

Lonzo Ball is the type of player that can change a culture. Although his outspoken moronic father gives him a bad reputation, Lonzo is a humble guy and is dedicated to his craft. He’s an excellent passer and seems to maximize the talent of his teammates. With the Phoenix Suns investing in a youth movement, having a point guard whose greatest attribute is making his teammates better seems like an ideal fit.

Ball has a funky looking shot, but the ball goes in the hoop more often than not. There’s a good chance that Ball won’t be available with the fourth pick, but the Suns would be wise to stop his slide if Boston, Los Angeles, and Philadelphia pass on the UCLA point guard.
