Over the Hill and To the Eastern Conference Finals, to Face LeBron and Co. We Go

The Cavs could acquire Paul George and move Kevin Love. The Knicks could buyout Carmelo, the Bulls could buy out Wade, the two could join forces with LeBron, and the Banana Boat Crew could come to fruition next summer. The Celtics could add Hayward and Griffin. I think they’re all plausible scenarios, but where’s the fun in that? Let’s make the teams that are almost there have a chance.

As I already mentioned, George Hill played in just 49 games last season, battling a slew of injuries; which is unfortunate, because just a few years ago he had an incredible postseason against the then LeBron-led Miami Heat. I think if he was given an opportunity to have a reduced role as a starter, he could thrive and be much healthier. Enter: Milwaukee.

I think Malcolm Brogdon earned his starting spot in the rotation last season, and the NBA community agrees with me, bestowing ROTY honors on him. While already a defensive stalwart, Brogdon leaves a little to be desired on the offensive end. (10.2 PPG) At age 24, he can still improve, but could afford to learn from a veteran and then take over the reins full time in a few years when Hill’s 3 year contract ends. Here’s your 2017-2018 Bucks:

  • Hill-Middleton-Giannis-Jabari-Jordan
  • Dellavedova-Brogdon-D.J. Wilson-Teletovic-Maker
  • Hawes, Payton, Vaughn as end of the bench options

Dellavedova and Brogdon are more than capable of spelling Hill for stretches/fill in for spot-starts throughout the season, and he wouldn’t have to always have the ball in his hands with Giannis running the point.
