Paul Millsap to Denver
Denver struck gold with the signing of Paul Millsap. The addition of Millsap gives the Nuggets one of the best frontcourts in the league. The pairing of Jokic and Millsap alongside the young guards makes Denver a dangerous team. Denver experimented with multiple players to pair with Jokic, but many did not pan out.
Millsap’s ability to knock down mid-range jumpers will provide what every team wants: spacing. Millsap should be a natural fit alongside Jokic, providing strong rebounding and scoring.
Paul Millsap is coming off yet another strong season for Atlanta. Millsap posted a career high 18.1 PPG along with 7.7 RPG. Millsap’s play was recognized with a trip to the NBA All-Star game for the fourth consecutive year. The Hawks were eliminated by the Wizards in six games, but Millsap was not at fault for the elimination, as he averaged a strong 24.3 PPG and 9.3 RPG for the series.
It is easy to see why the 32-year-old Millsap opted to sign with Denver. The Nuggets have one of the more promising young cores, and the signing of Millsap makes them a potential playoff team. A lineup consisting of Murray-Harris-Chandler-Millsap-Jokic is a team that should make the playoffs if they stay healthy.
Not to mention the deep bench Denver has as well, Mudiay, Barton, and Faried lead a strong second unit. The Nuggets finally landed the big free agent they have coveted for so long, and the reward may be a trip to the playoffs.
