DeMarcus Cousins to the Cleveland Cavaliers

Cavs Get: DeMarcus Cousins

Pelicans Get: Kevin Love/Tristsan Thompson, BK Pick

This is the type of deal that could be framed a number of ways, but the core of this trade would bring DeMarcus Cousins to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Cousins, when he’s motivated, is one of the NBA’s most talented centers. The biggest flaw in his game is his maturity. However, that’s likely something that wouldn’t be an issue in a veteran locker room. Especially one that consists of LeBron James.

Under the belief that no one team is going to be able to outscore or outrun the Golden State Warriors, barring injury, in a seven games series, the key to beating the Warriors will be in the paint. Cousins will give this Cavs team an element that it simply hasn’t had against the Warriors.

The Cavs have tried to outrun and outscore them. It didn’t work. Perhaps it’s time to try a different method, and DeMarcus Cousins could be the key to it.
