Dallas Mavericks

Should Dallas try to move a few veterans?

The Dallas Mavericks, like a few other teams in the NBA currently, are in this limbo where they’re aren’t good enough to make the playoffs but not bad enough to get a high draft pick. It’s a place that no one wants to be.

And with that comes pressing questions. Should the Mavs move their veterans in exchange for draft assets or younger prospects? It’s not as easy as some of the other teams on this list, mostly because of Dirk Nowitzki.

Dallas is probably a year or two from being back in playoff contention, and moving their veterans should be the move. But having Dirk on the roster makes it all the more complicated. Dallas probably owes it to Dirk to try to build this back up quickly. What will they do, though?
