Improved Playmaking

One of the biggest knocks on Peter’s NBA draft stock coming into the season was that he wasn’t much of a playermaker. Over his last 4 games Lamar is averaging 7.25 assists a game to go along with a 3.5 turnovers.

Over this stretch his turnovers have improved, last season he averaged 3.4 assists and 2.3 turnovers.

If you take a look at this video Peter’s blows by his defender. He gets met at the rim by help defense, and he makes a pretty touch pass to Abdul Ado for a layup. Next, look at these highlights against Texas A&M.

Skip to 2:45 and you will see Peters working a ball screen with Abdul Ado. He comes off the screen and makes a beautiful bounce pass to Ado for an easy dunk. Hopefully, Peters will continue to develop his pick and roll playmaking since it’s such an NBA staple.
