Size
This is something Lamar Peters has probably dealt with his whole life. Seeing many Mississippi State games and Lamar compete, it doesn’t concern me. However, it will concerns others. Peters is only 6-feet tall and when a point guard doesn’t have ideal size it automatically draws questions. Who’s he going to guard? How is he going to finish at the rim? Along with many others.
Overall Outlook: Lamar Peter’s won’t be considered a 2018 draft pick unless he makes a push in March. He’s very capable of one, but with Peters just starting to progress as a playmaker he should stay in school no matter what.
He should be able to come back next year and with an improved shooting consistency, and refining his newly improved play making skills, Peters could make a lot of draft noise. Assuming most of the point guard prospects declare this season Peter’s might find himself amongst the top 3-5 next year in a weak class. With a game tailor made to be a change of pace, bucket getting, backup point guard.

It’s extremely easy to overlook players once they don’t impress you. However, even when he’s not putting up great numbers it’s hard to ignore Peter’s talent. Much like Poole, Lamar Peters will be on my top 60 preseason big board next year. If he continues his hot play he should be on everyone else’s as well.
