1. Phoenix Suns: DeAndre Ayton C Arizona

Big Board Rank: 2

The Suns need a big man, and they need one desperately. The bigs the Suns have under contract are Tyson Chandler, Dragan Bender, Allan Williams, and Marquese Chriss. Chandler once was a great defensive player, but he turns 36 in October. Dragan Bender is more of a stretch for than a true center. Alan Williams hasn’t played all season, and probably isn’t a starting caliber center. Marquese Chriss has received extended playing time this year, but has been underwhelming.

This is why the Suns select DeAndre Ayton over Luka Doncic. Ayton has been a monster this season at Arizona. Averaging a double double with 19.6 points and 10.9 rebounds a game. The 7 foot center has an NBA ready body, and moves unlike any 7 footer I have seen. Hopefully the he can learn rim protection in time because that is something the Suns desperately need.
