Robert Swift’s rise

Robert Swift was a former NBA player who played primarily for the Seattle Supersonics, who are known as the Oklahoma City Thunder.

He was injured most of his NBA career and, after five seasons, he was out of the league. At that point, he ended up struggling with addiction to drugs. But now, at age 32, he’s come back from those dark moments to play in Spain. In his debut, he had a double-double of 16 points and 14 rebounds.

I wanted to talk about this because so many former NBA players drop off in the worst way. Swift may never get back in the NBA, but at least he’s showing us he’s not defeated. He’s truly an encouragement to people who are struggling with addiction. It’s not too late to get help and get back in the game in some capacity. I’m wishing Robert good fortunes with the rest of his life.
