15. Phoenix Suns (via Heat) – Zhaire Smith, G, Texas Tech

The NBA is quickly transforming into a guard’s league, and that’s exactly what the Phoenix Suns are pivoting to in this draft.

After selecting Trae Young with the No. 5 overall pick, the Suns will take another guard here at 15. Zhaire Smith has the potential to be an explosive offensive scorer that would fall in line with today’s NBA guard. Smith might be in the NBA Dunk Contest one day – that’s how athletic he is – and shot the deep ball well, considering his low volume.

He wasn’t asked to do much in the Red Raiders offense during his freshman season, but was efficient enough to stand out.
