Conclusion

Despite Deandre Ayton’s defensive woes, he has been No. 1 on our board now for a reason. Ayton is a physical and athletic marvel that does not come around very often.

He’s a strong offensive player and rebounder. With even more potential to grow from the 20 and 10 player that took college basketball by storm. Ultimately, I think Ayton is always going to be a slightly below average defender, even though he will improve of his defensive weaknesses.

Deandre Ayton’s offensive production and future development are just too much to pass up on, and will be a good bet to be the No. 1 overall pick, depending on draft order, in the 2018 NBA Draft.
