Most Overrated Point Guard – Trae Young, Oklahoma
This might be a bit silly to read, but I honestly think that the top point guard in the NBA Draft could be the most overrated. He’s expected to go in the top 7 or 8 picks, potentially as high as No. 4, and feel like it could be a big mistake to take him that high.
Young had a great scoring season with the Sooners, and pretty much carried their offense on most nights, but his shooting percentages leave much to be desired. He shot an inconsistent low-40 percent from the field and a little-above-average 36 percent from 3-point range.
He was a fairly good playmaker, but is awfully small for the new breed of point guard in the NBA. That, perhaps, makes me the most cautious about his future. At 6-foot-2 and 180 pounds, Young could be bullied at the next level.
