2. Sacramento Kings – Marvin Bagley, F, Duke
After trying to decide between a few different options, the Sacramento Kings finally elected to take Marvin Bagley, the forward/center out of Duke. During his freshman season at Duke, Bagley filled the stat sheet while averaging 21 points on 61 percent shooting from the field and nearly 30 percent from 3-point range.
If he can continue to prove that he can hit a consistent outside shot, he should fit right into what the modern NBA bigs are developing into. He still has some work to do on the defensive end, but most young prospects coming into the NBA have that issue.
Under the right coaching, Bagley should be able to grow into a potentially franchise-changing role. However, the Luka Doncic (who probably was the second-highest rated prospect in this draft) will forever be compared to Bagley.

3. Dallas Mavericks (via Hawks) – Luka Doncic, F, Slovenia
The Atlanta Hawks need to find a new face of the franchise, and there’s no better way to accomplish that than using their third overall pick. After Ayton and Bagley, they had the golden opportunity to land Luka Doncic, who many people had as the second-best prospect in this draft pool.
However, instead of selecting Doncic, the Hawks elected to move down a couple spots to No. 5 to select Trae Young. That means the Dallas Mavericks will take Doncic, essentially, with the third overall pick.
Doncic will join Dennis Smith Jr. as the Mavs continue to mold their new core.
