Marc Gasol, Memphis Grizzlies

The Memphis Grizzlies are coming off their worst season since the 2008-09 season. They were decimated by injuries last season as they limped their way to a 22-win season, locking up the No. 4 overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft. However, what they did with that pick in the draft really confused me – and it should do the same to you too.

Instead of a player that could help right now, or a more NBA-ready talent, the Grizzlies took a big swing on Jaren Jackson Jr., who has a high ceiling but is probably more far off from his finished product than any other player taken in the top 4 picks.

That leaves me to believe that perhaps this franchise doesn’t exactly know where it’s going or what their plan is going to be. Could they end up deciding to test the waters on Marc Gasol, who is a free agent after this season? Most definitely.
