Kyle Anderson

Signed with Grizzlies – four-years, $37.2

I was shocked when the San Antonio Spurs didn’t match Memphis’ offer sheet to bring Kyle Anderson back. He embodies everything that the Spurs do. He is an excellent defender, a solid ball handler and moves the ball.

But, in the end, they opted not to, and Anderson is now taking his defensive ability to Memphis to give the Grizzles their old grit and grind mentality back. You talk enough about his defense. He’s a good on ball defender, closes out and plays very well off the ball.

On offense, he’s not going to kill you, but he plays his role very well. Anderson is always moving, and is a very underrated passer and ball handler. He won’t kill you with his shooting, but he is smooth when he gets to the basket, and has a solid post game due to his size and length.

The Grizzlies aren’t contending this season, but he’s only 25 and is a solid piece to build with towards the future.
