2006 NBA Draft

Drafted:

2. LaMarcus Aldridge, Texas (traded to Portland)

Bulls drafting LaMarcus Aldridge was a good decision had they not traded the six-time All-Star to the Portland Trail Blazers for Tyrus Thomas.

Passed up:

6. Brandon Roy, Washington

I remember Brandon Roy lighting up the Illinois Fighting Illini in the second round of the NCAA tournament; a year after the Illini barely lost to North Carolina in the title game. I thought he would be a great player for the Bulls, but the team thought otherwise and passed on him. Roy was an All-NBA player before injuries ended his career after six seasons.

21. Rajon Rondo, Kentucky

Rajon Rondo is an NBA champion, four-time All-Star, three-time NBA assists leader and four-time All-Defensive team player. Playoff Rondo getting hurt, against the Celtics, is the reason the Bulls lost a 2-0 lead to the Celtics in first round of the 2017 playoffs.

24. Kyle Lowry, Villanova

Kyle Lowry is a four-time All-Star who along with Kawhi Leonard has the 11-1 Toronto Raptors sitting atop the Eastern Conference.
