Through the first quarter of the NBA season, the Dallas Mavericks have the best record in Texas. While that might not sound as impressive as other feats, take into consideration that the other two teams in Texas are the Spurs and Rockets.
If you had the Mavs as the best team of those three through the first quarter of the season, bravo. But perhaps what has been more impressive has been the play of Luka Doncic, the team’s 2018 first round pick.
Through his first 19 games in the NBA, Doncic is averaging 19 points, seven rebounds and four assists per game on 46 percent shooting from the field and 40 percent from 3-point range. So far so good for the rook.
