Utah Jazz: Derrick Favors
If the Utah Jazz don’t want to pay Derrick Favors the big, long-term contract that he’s going to be looking for on the open market either this summer or next (he has a team option for next season), they might as well try to trade him at the NBA Trade Deadline.
And the fact that they elected not to give him a long-term contract this past summer should tell you all you need to know about how they feel about him. Simply put, they’re not sold on him – possibly, yet.
That’s not great considering that this is his ninth season with the franchise, it’s not great that he still can’t get the contract he’s looking for. Maybe the Jazz should trade him at the deadline and try to get an asset.
