NBA Trade Deadline: One player every team should look to move

Charlotte Hornets: Cody Zeller

The Charlotte Hornets are clinging to the 8th seed in the Eastern Conference at the moment, and have certainly fallen off after their hot start. Kemba Walker was a player that I seriously considered placing here, but decided against it after the way he’s played to start the year.

Cody Zeller, on the other hand, is not the worst contract on this roster but it isn’t great. Even though he’s been a productive player thought the first few years of his career, he’s still under contract for two seasons after this year – and not cheap.

If the Hornets plan on re-signing Walker this summer – and it will cost them big money and a lot of cap space – they should do what they can to shed some of their long-term contracts. Zeller would be at the forefront of that. And there could be a market for him, despite popular belief.
