14. Boston Celtics (via Sacramento) – Jontay Porter, F/C, Missouri
Jontay Porter is somewhat of a player that most won’t remember, and that’s probably because he hasn’t played at all this season as he continues to recovered from a torn ACL injury that he suffered late in 2018.
However, if he was healthy, there’s an argument for him potentially being a top 10 pick in this year’s NBA Draft. Last season with the Tigers, Porter averaged 10 points and seven rebounds on 44 percent shooting from the field in the shadow of his brother Michael l Porter Jr.
With that said, the Boston Celtics are in a position where they can take a chance with this pick, and there might not be a roll of the dice with a more upside than Jontay Porter, who could help fill a void that this team might suddenly have in a couple seasons in the frontcourt.
