Kemba Walker, Charlotte Hornets (free agent)

This is the point in the list where we’re perhaps getting to the second-tier free agents, but still would be great gets for the Lakers considering the season that the team is coming off of. Adding a playmaker, scorer and all-around star on the level of Kemba would be a home run for the Lakers.

Kemba would successfully take significant pressure of LeBron and could carry the team if he needed to. He’d also allow LeBron to play a bit off the ball more next season, and ease the amount of youth that is on this roster.

Kemba could be signed into the team’s cap space, and would create the route for Lonzo Ball to be moved in a trade. Perhaps the Lakers could add another veteran starter in a potential Ball deal. Adding Kemba, while also keeping Brandon Ingram and a number of the other key young contributors would be a huge win for the Lakers. Again, assuming Los Angeles strikes out on some of the bigger names.
