Dropping out of the top 3 entirely, the Knicks have to be kicking themselves about what could’ve been. Even if they don’t land the top overall pick, it would feel like a punch in the gut if this team missed out on one of the big three prospects from this draft class.
In this scenario that’s exactly what takes place, leaving the Knicks with a decision between the second or third tier prospects. Sitting at 4, I think it’s important that New York makes a safe play here (assuming they keep the pick). Adding Cam Reddish is exactly that.
While some have fallen out of love with the third Duke prospect this past season, Reddish is one of those prospects that could end up being a better pro than college player. While he left much to be desired in terms of his efficiency, some of that could be chalked up to playing next to two high volume players, RJ Barrett and Zion Williamson.
Reddish isn’t as polished a prospect as the first three selections in this draft but is a heck of a consolation prize.
