Get a starting point guard

The biggest roster flaw the Suns have had in recent years is with the point guard position. Since the exodus of Goran Dragic/Eric Bledsoe, the Suns haven’t successfully addressed the position.

But if the Suns are going to have any type of success in 2019-20, the Suns will have to secure a starting caliber point guard. And this summer, there will be options. The Grizzlies are shopping Mike Conley, who could be had via trade for pennies on the dollar – look what Memphis gave Marc Gasol away for.

Another potential target could be Emmanuel Mudiay, who is expected to be a restricted free agent this summer. Mudiay, who struggled during his first few seasons in the NBA, is coming off a career year in which he averaged 14 points and four assists on 45 percent shooting from the field.

A third option, and probably the most feasible ones, is signing Ricky Rubio to a three or four-year deal. He is a free agent this summer, and will likely have plenty of suitors. But would work well next to Devin Booker.

Rubio is also a great defensive player that could take on the more offensive backcourt opponent to alleviate that responsibility from Booker on the defensive end.
