3. Khris Middleton
The Milwaukee Bucks will likely push hard to re-sign Khris Middleton this offseason. He played a crucial part in the teams successful season. This shows just how talented Middleton is, and why he is someone the Hawks should try to lore to Atlanta.
Middleton’s 2018-19 season was arguably the best of his career, which is saying something since he plays with the likely MVP of the league. Middleton is a proven scorer who is proficient from both inside and outside the three-point line, as well as the free throw line. He would fit well in the Hawks’ style of play.
Defensively, he is one of the league’s better defensive forwards. He would make a very solid, and much-needed, defensive anchor in the Hawks’ backcourt. At 6-foot-8 he can guard both the shooting guard and small forward spots, while being able to stay with smaller or bigger players when switched onto them. This is something Atlanta needs badly.
If Middleton decides not to re-sign with the Bucks, he may fall under the radar this free agency period, with the likes of Kevin Durant and Kawhi Leonard being available at the same position. That would make him the perfect target for a team like Atlanta to go after. He would give them an all-star with talent on both ends of the court.
