Atlanta Hawks – Build from the Draft

Just a few days ago in a trade with the Pelicans and Lakers, the Atlanta Hawks acquired the fourth overall pick for the 2019 NBA Draft. The Hawks became one of the strongest teams in this year’s draft and had great success in it just like years prior.

Along with taking 2019 NCAA National Champion De’Andre Hunter out of Virginia and Duke Forward Cam Reddish this year, Just last year they drafted Kevin Huerter and traded picks with the Mavericks acquiring Rookie of the Year candidate Trae Young. The year before they drafted rising star John Collins.

The Hawks have a good history with this sort of thing and that is what they’ll need to continue for the next few years to come. Atlanta isn’t the 60-win team it once was back in 2015. The past few years have been high lottery pick years, but that’s been working for the Hawks as stated earlier they’ve drafted very well. Continue building through the draft and the Hawks will be a solid team once their young core has developed.
