Houston Rockets

Key additions: Russell Westbrook

Key subtractions: Chris Paul

The Houston Rockets headed into the 2019 offseason with the need of improving, somehow. Without cap space and much wiggle room, that was going to prove difficult. After missing on Jimmy Butler, the Rockets shifted their focus to Russell Westbrook.

And managed to swap Paul for Westbrook a few days ago, along with a couple of draft picks. And for that, I can’t really fault Daryl Morey. He was desperate to improve the roster somehow, and Westbrook, quite frankly, simply didn’t fit next to James Harden anymore.

The Rockets will be one of the favorites to come out of the West this season.
