Bradley Beal, Washington Wizards
And now we get to perhaps the most interesting name on this list, Bradley Beal. With two years still remaining on his contract with the Washington Wizards, he’s going to be offered the supermax extension in roughly a week. If he elects to decline it, or not sign it immediately, then it gets interesting.
Beal not signing the extension could point to the possibility – or the likelihood – that he could want out of Washington. Or, at least, to wait and see how John Wall looks after he makes his return from a torn Achilles.
Either way, no matter how you chop it up, it would spell very bad news for the Wizards. At this point, in large part, because they’re stuck with arguably the worst contract in the league (Wall’s deal), Washington’s only real chance at being relevant falls on the shoulders of Beal.
Beal wanting out could further fog Washington’s future. And, from the looks of it, Beal might be the most realistic star to demand a trade next.
