San Antonio Spurs

Will the Spurs be content with just making the playoffs?

The San Antonio Spurs have become one of the most successful and consistent franchises in the NBA. They’ve made the playoffs for 22 straight seasons and have shown no signs of slowing down behind DeMar DeRozan and LaMarcus Aldridge. With that said, that also doesn’t mean it’s OK to just be relevant in the Western Conference.

And that’s exactly what the Spurs have been recent. Good enough to make the playoffs, but nowhere near good enough to make any significant noise. Even though they nearly upset the Nuggets in the playoffs this past season, there’s no question that his team leaves a bit to be desired.

The Spurs have been the blueprint for excellence in the NBA, and have been everything but that as of late. I don’t believe Gregg Popovich is OK with being just good enough. I don’t think the Spurs front office is OK with that either. Though not being OK with it could mean blowing this roster up and I’m not sure that’s entirely possible while staying competitive at the same time. The Spurs have some big questions to answer this season.
