Will they trade Bradley Beal at any point this season?

Fair or not, the big question for the Washington Wizards will revolve around Bradley Beal and whether or not he will be moved. He is an expiring contract after next season and could be in line to sign a supermax extension this summer, depending on how he performs this season. However, if the Wizards want to avoid offering a second supermax – they already got in trouble by offering John Wall one – it could force Beal’s hand in possibly demanding a trade.

Or, he could want to remain in Washington. We honestly don’t know yet, simply put. Both sides have said the right things, but until a contract extension is signed this is going to be a storyline for a team that doesn’t have much hope heading into the season.

Perhaps that says more about where the Wizards are as a franchise than it does about Beal. Either way, it’s something that is a story right now and won’t be going anywhere even when the season begins.

The Wizards are probably not winning many games this season, but there is a growing sense that the next big name to be moved will be Bradley Beal. We’ll see if the Wizards can do what it takes to keep their star happy and content.
