Los Angeles Lakers
It was an uncharacteristically slow start for Anthony Davis in the Los Angeles Lakers‘ matchup with the Chicago Bulls. Davis scored only four points on 2-9 shooting in the first 24 minutes of play. This is easily identifiable as a component in the Lakers having to come from behind to win this game. Davis did manage to find some of his offense in the second half and finished the game with 15 points.
Overall though, the experience and poise absolutely drip from this roster. There was no point in this game when I got the feeling that this game had really gotten away from the Lakers in spite of the double-digit deficit. This is a team with a bunch of guys who know how to turn it on just like that. I mean, 38 points in the fourth quarter pretty much say it all.
LeBron James logged his third consecutive triple-double with a 30 point,10 rebound, 11 assist performance. There are reasons I believe James is the most likely player to manage to average a triple-double this season.
Quinn Cook and Kyle Kuzma both had solid games of the bench combining for 23 points. To see Kuzma having success off the bench is a big positive for the Lakers. Kuzma missed the first four games of the season with a stress reaction in his left foot before making his season debut against the Dallas Mavericks on November 1st. He got off to a slow start scoring 14 points in his first two games.
