1. Luka Doncic, Dallas Mavericks

Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks have been exciting to watch thus far. Luka is making his claim to be named MVP of the league readily apparent. The Mavericks posses a 6-4 record in the early portion of the season led by their second year generational star, Luka Doncic.

Doncic nearly averages a triple double this season with 28.3 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 9.1 assists per game. In the ten games that Luka has played in this season he’s recorded a triple-double in four of them.

Doncic plays the game of basketball at his own pace and has completely mastered the art of pick-and-roll offense. He’s a wizard on the court with the ability to elevate his teammate’s level of play while providing his own brand on instant offense.

With below average athleticism, Luka hasn’t let that hinder his talent at all. His incredible shot making ability combined with his extraordinary court vision and shot off the dribble, make him one of the most unique players that the game has ever seen. And let’s not forget giants automatic step-back jumper.

There just aren’t enough word stuff to describe how spectacular the 20-year-old foreign star is.

As of now, Luka Doncic is a legitimate MVP candidate. With the addition of Porzingis and the injury to Steph Curry, the Mavs are projected to make the playoffs this season.

If Luka continues this elite level of play – which I expect he will – and the Mavericks reach the postseason, then Luka may even finish as the front runner to win Most Valuable Player.
